Eastbourne Classic Bus will be holding a Classic Bus Running Day on Sunday 5th July at Eastbourne Railway Station.
This popular annual event is a festival of classic buses and offers a unique experience to ride on classic buses ranging from the 1930's – 1980's.
These free services run along routes that used to be operated by the former Eastbourne Corporation and Southdown bus companies.
Around 20 vehicles will provide regular trips including services to Beachy Head, Birling Gap and East Dean, seafront rides to Princes Park and the Sovereign Centre as well as journeys through the Sussex countryside to Bexhill, Hailsham and Pevensey Bay. There's also a recreation of the 1970's Eastbourne "Town Tour".
All buses will start from the car park adjoining Eastbourne Station between 10am and 4.30pm.
The event provides a great family day out with recent years seeing over 2500 people enjoying the rides.
While all rides are free we do encourage purchase a souvenir programme as this helps to cover some of the costs of staging the event.
The souvenir programme provides timetables and details of all services and buses operating the services. It is available for £10.00 on the day or can be ordered for £9.00 in advance from steven.wood@clara.co.uk.

Editors Note: The event will be organised by Steven Wood, the owner of an ex Eastbourne Corporation AEC Regent bus dating from 1963 with the support of Country Bus Rallies (CBR). This is an organisation formed of bus owners in 1995. CBR stages a number of running day in a number of towns in south east England.
Whilst all the services are free we hope that participants may buy a programme for the day, containing the timetables and items of interest, which help to defray the costs of the day.
