PICNIC – if the weather is fine grab a blanket and your favourite foodie treats and head out for a Great British Picnic. There’s plenty of spots – Beachy Head is the iconic place but why not enjoy a wander through the canopy of trees at Abbots Wood – there’s plenty of picnic tables and parking, parks aplenty in Eastbourne with Princes Park, Hampden Park, Shinewater and Gildredge just some suggestions. BANDSTAND’S BACK – May marks the return of the Bandstand regular concerts, bands and tribute shows from Taylor Swift to Depeche Mode, with over 140 shows in the diary there’s so much choice! Plus did we mention the fireworks? Check it out

When in the Old Town head to The Rainbow, The Prince Albert or The Crown to enjoy a beer garden in the sunshine, the town centre pubs also have outside space including Bibendum, The Eagle, The Dew Drop and The Crown and Anchor. Or head out to The Tiger to enjoy a tipple on the green, or The Garden Bar at Sovereign Harbour.
